The Vagisil Dialogues Itch: Not Every Itch is an Infection

Most women assume that when they experience feminine itching that it is thrush, but there are several different triggers that could lead to itching.

Some non-infection triggers could be:

  • Wearing tight clothing
  • Wearing synthetic materials
  • Periods
  • Allergic reactions
  • Dermatological causes
  • Perspiration
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Sexual activity

If the itching is accompanied by changes in vaginal discharge and in some cases odour, the chances are that there is a vaginal infection. It's very important that the infection be diagnosed correctly. Make an appointment to see your doctor or visit your Well Woman clinic as soon as possible.
